Chalice Supporters Give Litenes His Radiance Back

Liténès is 18 years old and sponsored through the Haiti South sponsor site. Despite his family's humble circumstances, Liténès works hard to achieve good grades in school. But last summer, the bright high-schooler fell ill with a high fever. After three weeks, he was in so much pain he couldn't stand up, so his sister, Solophonie, took him to the hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital was under-equipped and unable to provide effective treatment.

Thankfully, Solophonie contacted the Haiti South site staff, who ensured that he got into a reputable clinic. His doctors diagnosed Liténès with typhoid fever and a bacterial stomach infection. While he and his family were grateful for a diagnosis and treatment plan at last, the cost of recovery was going to be steep - much too high for Liténè's father, who struggles to find consistent employment. The Haiti South site requested the help of Chalice supporters, who quickly supplied the full amount through our urgency fund.

Liténès is now fully cured, experiencing no pain, and doing well. "His build is really extraordinary, his face is radiant," writes the Haiti South staff.
